External Scholarships

There are billions of dollars of external scholarship money available to students of all qualifications, abilities, and interests. These external scholarships may be provided by private donors, foundations, businesses and many other sources outside of The University of Alabama. Here are a few helpful tips for finding scholarships that are right for you:

  1. If you are a first-time freshman, talk to your High School Guidance Counselor. Counselors usually have up to date information that may be specific to your interests or your intended major. There are also scholarships designated for minorities and certain ethnic groups.
  2. Check into scholarships that may be offered by your parents' employers or civic clubs. Corporations may offer scholarships to children of their employees. Elks Club, Lions Club, and The Girl & Boy Scouts of America are among the many organizations that offer scholarships.
