To be considered for the Academic Elite Scholarships, a student must be accepted as a member of the University Fellows Experience. The student must maintain membership in the UFE to continue holding an Academic Elite Scholarship. Complete information on the UFE can be found at universityfellows.ua.edu. Eligibility for the University Fellows ExperienceA student with an ACT score of 32 or an SAT score of 1400 (verbal and quantitative) and a high school GPA of 3.8 who is accepted into UA by the scholarship deadline of December 1 will be sent an application form for the University Fellows. A student eligible for the University Honors Program (ACT of 28 or SAT of 1240) may be nominated for the University Fellows Experience by a high school counselor or a UA faculty or staff member. The nomination should be sent to Dr. Robert Halli. Upon its receipt by the scholarship deadline, the nominee will be sent a UFE application. Each high school may nominate one UFE candidate in addition to those automatically invited to apply. In the UFE selection process, the candidate's academic, extracurricular, service, and leadership achievements will weigh more heavily than grades and test scores. << Back to Types of Scholarships Index | |
